Walking the Atlanta BeltLine: On the trail at Edgewood Avenue and then Wylie Street
Today, we have videos three and four taken during the November 12, 2011 walk of the entire Atlanta BeltLine loop. At Edgewood Avenue (the first video below), you’ll see we’re below the bridge and beside what will become a “BeltLine Spaces” park. These “Spaces” are pockets of greenspace around the project that could become open park land with minimal funding, which means they could be cleaned up and put into use more quickly without a huge amount of planning. We’re also right by Skyline at Edgewood, a loft development eligible for Atlanta BeltLine downpayment assistance.
Our second video gives a 360 panorama of the intersection of the Atlanta BeltLine and Wylie Street, the border between Cabbagetown and Reynoldstown. You can see the existing, abandoned rail and a couple of works from the public art project Art on the Atlanta BeltLine. This section of trail will go into the construction planning phase in 2012 and will hopefully be breaking ground in 2013.
